Wheelies & Waves is proud to be an approved participating retailer for Colorado's statewide e-bike rebate program. That means qualifying Colorado residents can redeem their state rebate right here in Gunnison or Crested Butte — no separate paperwork with us, no runaround. Just pick your bike, show your approval, and ride.

How much can you save?

Base Incentive: $1,000

+ E-Cargo Bike Incentive: +$300

+ Adaptive E-Bike Incentive +$300

On top of the state rebate, Colorado also offers a $225 e-bike tax credit at participating retailers like us — and you can stack it with your state rebate on the same purchase. (Local incentives, like City of Gunnison or GCEA member discounts, can't be combined with the state rebate on the same bike, but ask us in-store — we'll help you find the best combo for your situation.)

*Rebates don't cover sales tax, shipping, or assembly, and sales tax is calculated on the full retail price.*

Who qualifies?

You must be a Colorado resident, at least 18 years old, and meet **one** of the following:

- Household income below 80% of the Area Median Income for your county, **or**

- Enrolled in a qualifying assistance program, including:

- CARE (Colorado Affordable Residential Energy)

- Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

- Medicaid

- RTD LiVE

- Section 8

- SSDI

- WIC

- LEAP

- SNAP

- SSI

**Note:** Only one lifetime e-bike rebate is allowed per person.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Register online during an open registration window at the state portal. You'll need basic personal info and answers to a few eligibility questions.

2. Wait for selection — the Colorado Energy Office randomly selects registrants and notifies winners by email.

3. Upload your documents — proof of Colorado address and income eligibility, due within one week of being selected.

4. Come see us — once approved, redeem your rebate at Wheelies & Waves within 60 calendar days.

Which e-bikes qualify?

Good news — many of the e-bikes we sell qualify. In general, an eligible e-bike must:

- Be UL 2849 or EN 15194 certified (look for the certification logo)

- Be new (not used)

- Have a motor of 750 watts or less (no gas motors)

- Have two or three wheels with fully operable pedals

- Be Class 1, 2, or 3 under Colorado's e-bike definition

Standard e-bikes: max purchase price of $5,000; full-suspension mountain e-bikes don't qualify.

E-cargo bikes: no price cap, but must have an extended frame rated to carry at least 100 lbs.

Adaptive e-bikes: no price cap; built or modified for riders who need adaptive equipment to ride comfortably.
